GLI Harumi School recently,Four-day summer school<\/strong><\/span>The event was held at the<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

(*Explains the importance of \"Upcycling\")<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Theme.Eco-Cooking<\/strong><\/span>It was.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Eco-Cooking.<\/span><\/strong>refers not only to cooking in an environmentally friendly manner, but also to an eco-friendly diet through a series of \"shopping,\" \"cooking,\" and \"cleaning up.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For GLI to develop global human resources,<\/strong>Eco and environment\" is a theme that we want to convey to our children and have them value it as much as English does.<\/strong><\/span>And that is why we chose \"Eco-cooking\" as our theme.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

During the event, participants experienced eco-cooking, learned about the importance of the second SDG, \"Zero Hunger,\" and engaged in other activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today.Summer School Report at Harumi School<\/strong><\/span>and what we did at the event! (*We held this event again with thorough infection control measures in place.)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

DAY\u2460.Experience eco-cooking!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

First, in this summer school,Over the four days, we learned 50 words a day, 150 words in total, that even the biggest of people don't know, such as \"simmer,\" \"drain,\" \"cutting board,\" and \"cook,\" etc. We learned 50 words a day for a total of 150 words that even the big guys don't know.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

However, learning is not like memorizing a vocabulary book like in school English.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As you can see in the picture, we start withBy pairing ''English words'' with ''objects'' that the words refer to and visually acquire them while having fun at the same time.<\/strong>I did.<\/p>\n

And,Then \"experience\" what you have learned at Eco-Cooking<\/strong><\/span>The students were asked to do so, which led to further retention.<\/p>\n

This is why we are all so excited to be a part of this eco-cooking event.Yokan\".<\/strong>I made the<\/p>\n

Not just an eco-cooking experience,In the process of making the dish, the participants enjoyed reviewing how to say the ingredients and cooking utensils in English. The students enjoyed reviewing the English vocabulary and learning how to say the words in English.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The first day is not only about eco-cooking,We talked about the importance of the second SDG, \"Zero Hunger,\" and watched a video about countries suffering from hunger.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Japan is blessed to be able to eat rice every day, which is taken for granted in Japan. However, this is not the case when looking at the world.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We hope that by learning about the world, people will feel grateful for everyday life and think about what they can do, such as not leaving food on the table.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

DAY 2Let's get more familiar with \"animals and plants.\"<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Day 2.Focusing on the \"environment<\/strong>Explore \"animals,\" \"plants,\" \"insects,\" and \"vegetables.\"<\/strong>I did.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

First, we read picture books about plants and animals in English, and then we start to discover the \"plants\" and \"colors\" mentioned in the books,With good infection control measures in place.Scavenger Hunt.\"<\/span><\/strong>I went out to<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A \"scavenger hunt\" is an activity that involves collecting or performing items on a checklist.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This time, there were checklist items for \"animal,\" \"plant,\" \"color,\" \"shape,\" and \"size,\" and the teams worked hard together to find the items on each checklist.<\/p>\n

Then, after returning to GLI..\"An activity to make paints with vegetables.\"<\/strong><\/span>The company has conducted a<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

In that activity, with the fun of being able to make paints from vegetables,The goal is to let people know the importance of resources, not wasting even vegetable leaves that would normally be thrown away.<\/strong>It was.<\/p>\n

After making the paints, the students themselves chose a picture of their own choosing and made that paint. I was happy to see that all the students enjoyed and enthusiastically engaged in the project.<\/p>\n

DAY 3)Get to know Upcycling!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Day 3.Upcycling.\"<\/strong><\/span>I learned about the<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

What is \"upcycling?\"<\/strong>Evolution of recycling<\/strong><\/span>It is an idea that can also be described as \"a way to increase value by converting waste or unused materials into new materials or better products.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This time, we divided into grades and groups and used plastic bottles.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ottomans and vases.<\/strong>made!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Everyone created wonderful works with their own unique arrangements and embellishments!<\/p>\n

DAY 4 Summary<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On the fourth and final day,Comprehensive review of what you have learned and experienced so far<\/strong>I did.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The \"activities\" we did in this summer school and the \"activities\" we did in this summer school,The \"important points\" that we wanted you to learn in each activity. And 150 English vocabulary words.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And not only that.Team building.<\/strong><\/span>They also learned the importance of<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

if you put it that way'What does team building have to do with English?'<\/strong>Some may feel that this is not a good idea.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But there will be many times in the student's future student life when he or she will have to do something as a \"team\" and will experience difficulties and hardships in the process.<\/p>\n

Still, there are also \"joys\" and \"fun\" that come only from being a team.It is also common to work on team projects with people from different countries when going abroad.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That's why \"team building\" is important for the future, and on top of that, it is important in team building.Friendliness, Patience, Teamwork (dare I say it in English).\"<\/strong><\/span>We wanted to make sure that they understood the<\/p>\n

The reason why there are so many \"team activities\" at GLI events, not just this summer school, is to help people understand the importance of team building.<\/p>\n

Through this summer school, I learned new things like eco-cooking and upcycling, but not only that,I want to learn more English!\" Motivation<\/strong><\/span>and,<\/p>\n

By trying \"new things,\" such as making paints with vegetables,I want to try new things from now on! I want to take on new challenges!<\/strong><\/span>We would be happy if you could have a chance to visit us.<\/p>\n
