everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first field trip of the school year was to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace on Sunday, April 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of 19 people, including students and outsiders, participated in this year's event!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Sorry to those who were unable to attend as we reached capacity quickly \ud83d\udca6)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This field trip is very familiar to all of you, but I would like to briefly introduce the details of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"GLI%E3%81%AE%E3%83%95%E3%82%A3%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AB%E3%83%89%E3%83%88%E3%83%AA%E3%83%83%E3%83%97%E3%81%A8%E3%81%AF%EF%BC%9F\"><\/span>What is a GLI field trip?<span To be able to communicate with others in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event offers such an experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(It's only one day, but you'll come back a whole lot better for the experience!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E5%BA%83%E5%B0%BE%E6%A0%A1%E3%81%B8%E9%9B%86%E5%90%88%EF%BC%81\"><\/span>Meet at Hiroo School!<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gli.kukan-kobo.co.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IMG_5459-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9820\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.3333333333333333;object-fit:contain;width:699px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Nervous at first?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>On the morning of the day, we first gathered at the Hiroo School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each GLI event usually brings together students from different schools (Harumi, Hiroo, Musashi-Kosugi, Online, and outside).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This time, we formed one group of only junior and senior high school students to prepare and practice more advanced questions and guidance in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other four groups are grades 1-6 and first graders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the children were happy to be reunited with friends they had been with at previous events!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Seeing friends from different classrooms is one of the fun parts of GLI events!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All groups prepare for the interview by working together, especially the older students, to think of questions, look up English words, and teach each other how to spell the words.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gli.kukan-kobo.co.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IMG_5464-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9821\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.3333333333333333;object-fit:contain;width:613px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">My first interview! What shall I ask?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3%E3%82%BF%E3%83%93%E3%83%A5%E3%83%BC%E9%96%8B%E5%A7%8B%EF%BC%81\"><\/span>Start of interview!<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At our destination, by the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, we ate lunch in good company and finally began the interviews by group!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(I could have entered the East Gardens, but the line to check luggage at the entrance was long and it was hot that day, so I decided to do the interview around the exit of the Gardens.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had done a field trip to the Imperial Palace area once before, but even more so than that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of foreign tourists seems to be increasing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is not difficult to find interviewees, but it still takes courage to say the first word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, after the group's leader, an older child, did his best to say the first \"Excuse me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone was having more and more fun, too, talking to one another one after another (not that they were competing for numbers by any means),<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every time I meet another GLI group, I ask, \"How many people have you told? We have 10!\" We were so proud of each other! I wish I could have spoken a little louder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It would have been better if we could have had the perspective of giving information in return, as we did in the higher grades, instead of asking one-sided questions to the tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am glad that I was able to experience the opportunity to present in front of everyone, even if I could not speak well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was great that they gave us an opportunity to present our work in front of everyone, and that our parents were able to observe it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was very thankful that the class was divided into small groups and one teacher was assigned to each group.
